Seven talented students from CCQ’s Science and Technology division proudly represented Qatar, competing alongside 157 peers from 14 countries across the Middle East and Central Asia in the finals of Huawei's "Seeds for the Future 2024" program in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This program is designed to foster knowledge, develop global talent in information and communication technology (ICT), build cross-cultural bridges, and advance the global digital inclusion agenda.
The Qatari team of ten students showcased their exceptional skills throughout the competition. They participated in various key events, including an ICT Leaders Panel Discussion, a United Nations Development Program (UNDP) lecture, and sessions on the comprehensive use of priority matrices. Additionally, they visited Uzbekistan's Ministry of Digital Technology and the IT Park, the largest IT hub in Central Asia, known for nurturing startups, business accelerators, IT education, investment, and infrastructure.
Led by Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghushami, Head of the IT Department at CCQ, the students presented real-world projects that addressed pressing global challenges. Their participation in interactive experiences, ranging from rich cultural exchanges to exploring cutting-edge technologies, significantly enhanced their ICT skills and prepared them to assume leadership roles in the future.
Dr. Al-Ghushami emphasized that the program is pivotal in empowering the next generation of IT professionals by providing practical experience and exposure to innovative technologies. He noted, "Our students' participation in this competition is a valuable opportunity to engage with advanced technology, refine their skills, and gain insights from global technology leaders."
