Program DescriptionThe Associate of Mechanical Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare students for a technically oriented career that meets the needs of the State of Qatar or for pursuing an undergraduate degree. The program integrates communication skills and theoretical and applied competencies to prepare students for new technologies. Simultaneously, the program supports the general education components that raise students' awareness of social needs and issues.

Program Objectives

The Associate of Mechanical Engineering Technology program aims to produce graduates who are able to:

- Secure an entry-level position in mechanical engineering technology or related fields.

- Matriculate into a baccalaureate degree program.

- Communicate and collaborate successfully, individually and within a team, in both professional and social settings.

- Engage in professional development, applying principles of continuous learning to adapt to new engineering technologies and career challenges.

- Consider legal, ethical, and social implications related to the practice of the mechanical engineering technology profession.

Learning Outcomes

By the time of graduation, students will be able to:

- Identify and solve basic mechanical engineering technology problems by applying basic principles of engineering and science.

- Produce mechanical engineering technology solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health and safety, as well as cultural, social, and environmental factors.

- Communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

- Recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments. These must consider the impact of engineering solutions in environmental and societal contexts.

- Function effectively as a member of a technical team.

- Conduct appropriate experimentation, interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.

- Acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

Current Students:

To be eligible for the program, a student must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Foundation Student: complete L4 foundation
  • Transfers from another CCQ program: a minimum GPA of 2.0
